Cookies for account access

Cookies are small values stored by your browser and sent with requests to the relevant website. Modolly uses Supabase authentication cookies to maintain your sign-in session and protect account access. Blocking them can prevent sign-in and account features from working.

Cookie lifetime depends on the session and its renewal. Signing out ends the current session; you can also remove cookies through your browser settings. Visiting our public information pages does not require signing in.

Projects are saved on your device

Browser storage is separate from cookies. The current editor saves projects, imported pictures and recordings, and project thumbnails in IndexedDB, separated by account. Local storage also keeps unsaved editing drafts and preferences; session storage supports temporary actions in the current tab.

This is local saving, not cloud backup. Projects do not automatically sync between browsers, devices or website addresses. Signing out does not remove local projects. Clearing site data, using private browsing or browser storage eviction can make them unavailable.

Before clearing site data or deleting your account, export a .modolly project backup from each project you want to keep. The backup includes your imported media and scene settings; platform models still require an online download and the applicable access rights. Read the backup guide.

Online services and measurements

Account access, subscription checks and platform asset downloads use online services. Modolly records limited operational events, such as export outcomes and errors, to understand failures and improve reliability. These events do not include your imported files, project names or screen designs.

When enabled, Google Analytics measures visits and navigation on our website and app and may use analytics cookies to distinguish visits. We send named page paths with project IDs, query strings and URL fragments removed; we do not send your project names, imported media or scene settings. Advertising personalization is disabled. You can block analytics through your browser’s privacy controls or Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on.

The application does not currently embed third-party advertising trackers. Stripe checkout and the billing portal, and Google sign-in if you choose it, are separate services that may use their own cookies for authentication, payment and fraud prevention. Their policies apply when you visit them.

Your controls

Use your browser’s site settings to inspect or remove cookies and local storage for modolly.app and app.modolly.app. Back up your projects first: removing cookies signs you out, while removing site storage may permanently erase local work. Essential account and storage features cannot work normally when their required storage is blocked.
