How to create animated mockups

Choose a scene and screen

Pick a template for your device or composition, then import your design. Both images and MP4 recordings can be used as screen content while the 3D scene moves.

Shape the movement

Start with a motion preset. Use the timeline to preview, adjust timing and edit keyframes for supported camera and device properties. Check the start, middle and final frame.

Export the full sequence

Open video export, choose an available resolution and quality, and keep the browser tab visible while it renders. Export silent MP4 at 30 fps, up to 8K with Pro on compatible devices. The dialog shows whether H.264 or H.265 is used.

Give each move a purpose

A slow turn reveals the device shape. A closer view brings an interface detail forward. An orbit can connect multiple devices in a composition. Choose the movement that makes your design easier to understand, then preview the complete scene.

Plan screen playback and export together

A recording on the device has its own content timing. Check its start and loop settings alongside the scene animation. Export duration and resolution depend on your plan; browser video encoding support and available memory also affect the export.

Does an exported animation include sound?

No. Modolly currently exports silent MP4 video. Add a voiceover or soundtrack afterwards in a video editor if your presentation needs audio.

Why is MP4 export unavailable in my browser?

Video export needs WebCodecs and H.264 or H.265 encoding at your selected size. 8K is not supported by every device. Keep the tab visible and reduce the resolution or duration if the export runs out of resources. HEVC files also need a compatible video player.
